I have been curious lately about where we create - where do we go to do what they do? What does it look like? How can I snoop into everyone's creative spaces? With that in mind, I decided to ask some of my fave bloggers about where they create.
I am thrilled to present my first guest - Denise from Hello Moxie. She was one of the first to respond to my column idea - she's just right on top of things and making it all happen.
I met Denise at a roundtable at ALT Design Summit (I wrote about ALT here, here and here). And I have been getting to know her through her blog where she writes about all things that are girl talk - what you'd call YOUR girlfriends to chat about. It's anything and everything. That's one of the many reasons that I enjoy Hello Moxie - it's all that catches her attention.
For paid work Denise is an amazing photographer - you can see some of her work here.
And here is where Denise creates:
This is my home studio. And when I’m preparing for a shoot, I sit on the floor in this corner to get inspired. I pull out all the inspirational material from my shelves, play some tunes and start creating. If I’m not shooting on location, my mornings are for getting organized and my afternoons are for exploring. That’s when I’m most likely to snack – I really love the whole grain savory crackers from Trader Joe’s. I dip them in quark and freshly chopped chives. Yum! I’m usually very inspired and motivated in my job. But if I’m in a lull, bored and need a break from tedious office business, I migrate to the sofa to watch Ellen and read a magazine.
I'll be sharing MORE creative spaces in the coming weeks and months...
