(the Guggenheim from a few weeks ago)
I'm back, baby, I'm back. After 19 movies in 4 1/2 days at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) - my annual introduction to fall. I'm full of ideas and projects and thoughts and images. Of course I'll be sharing them with you over the next few weeks and months. I don't like to keep these things to myself. I just can't do it.
And after a summer hiatus from my Friday Arts & Leisure Links, I am THRILLED to be back. Happy to be pulling together what I have found inspiring and titilating and thought-provoking and just plain funny. Just.for.you. For me too - getting back into the groove of creating and writing and collaborating.
Let's get started. And let's call it the "how to" edition.
How do you take cliche photos on Instagram? Like I need to LEARN this. I've done a few. Oops. What, the shoes are a cliche?
How do you value artwork that can never be sold?
How do you know that Patrick Stewart is living in Park Slope? (Resistance is futile....).
How do you steal art?
How do you hone your craft? Advice from Jack London.
And of course I MUST include the Mad Men video that has been making the rounds.
Want to know more about me? Why not, eh? I may have taken a bit of a sabbatical over the summer but I was around and about. You can see more of my house in an interview with Design Mom in her series Living with Kids. At Jillian in Italy find out all about A Kid's Life in Canada.
And zoom over to read more kids' book reviews at Classic Play in my column, The Reading Nook. I'm on a mission to make sure that every kid has a crack at reading some good books.
Weekend plans? The girl is having a garage sale of her old toys on Saturday. In our garage. There'll be cookies and lemonade too. We're also baking some honeycake for a sweet new year. And hosting a family dinner. How about you?
