"Our busy age does not always have time to read, but it always has time to look".
-Theophile Gautier, 1858
Christie and I LOVE Instagram. We love it so much that every few months we host a #foliophoto Instagram project. The latest one was the #alphabet - 26 consecutive days beginning in January where each day we took a photo based on each letter of the alphabet.
I can't show them all here (hashtag #foliophoto) but I DID select the 40 images created for the letter "M". Can you guess what each mean? (Click on each photo to go to that person's Instagram account).
So creative. So inspiring. A side project with constraints? That's where it all happens, right?
And you know how it's about being creative and getting to know other artists? It can be more than that. It often WILL be more than that. My friends, you just NEVER know what'll happen when you take on a side project like #foliophoto #alphabet.
A side-project can shape the direction of your work.
And I made a book with Artifact Uprising. There is something about seeing your photos in print rather than only on a screen. The paper and print quality are amazing (unsponsored and unsolicited thumbs up!). If you have some faves - get them printed, even if it's just individual photos.
Christie and I will have another Instagram project soon and I can't wait to see what we all create. You planning to be a part of it? We'd love to see you.
