On the streets where we live

(with apologies to Lerner and Loewe). Grab a coffee and listen to the song from My Fair Lady. Catch you in a few minutes.

I think that because I have lived in Vancouver less than a year that I have been thinking a lot about where we all live. The neighbourhoods, the streets, the homes, the cities and towns. Is there "no where on this earth where I would rather be"? To be honest, probably not - I have been and am a bit of a gypsy. I love the big city - the edginess and the creative energy and the hustle and bustle. But for now we are here. For family reasons - sandwich generation and all that. And maybe we are here forever.

Some people love the small town life and some people love the big city life. Gabrielle at Design Mom wrote a post recently where she asked if you could return home to where you grew up. In response many wrote about the benefits and challenges of growing up in a small town. Jenna at Sweet Fine Day wrote this lovely post about choosing to live with her family in NYC. Brookelyn of Brookelyn Photography wrote about her love/hate relationship with living in NYC.

Where do you live? Why do you live there? Is it where you always wanted to live? Like the song says, "is there no where else on earth where [you'd] rather be?"
